John Robbins, Madoff and The New Good Life

Much thanks to Garry S. for sending me a link to the intro of John Robbins' new book: “The New Good Life.” It is worth a read as a stand alone article.
His ideas are all part of the new healthier, happier future that I see possible for the world today–part of the seismic shift I believe is now taking place. These changes have been slow coming to be sure. It has been painful to watch so many people blow up and suffer before they are motivated to change. Apparently John Robbins himself lost a lot of his Baskin & Robbins inheritance with Bernie Madoff. (Remember if someone if offering you a constant double digit return each year when the risk free rate is .25, it is either a scam or a high-stakes bet full of risk–in either case they should never be entrusted with large parts of your wealth.)
The changes needed will be years in the making; but I believe we now have the opportunity for some true, meaningful recovery. And yes it will be difficult…and yes it will be scary…but the future is calling us. This quote of the day I saw yesterday is on point:
“Fear of failure and fear of the unknown are always defeated by faith. Having faith in yourself, in the process of change, and in the new direction that change sets will reveal your own inner core of steel.”
Or as my Irish Granny Mary P used to say: “You never know your luck in a strange town” and oh yes “Ta hell with poverty”.

5 years ago,John Robbins' writing was instrumental in changing my life.
His first book, “Diet for a new America” is a must read. If one was to read only one more book in their lives, it should be that one.
wouldn't hurt to read his other 2 either.
    “The Food Revolution”
    and
    “Healthy at 100”
