Loonie supernova

When the world was mad for commodities, Canada was heralded a shining star on the global stage.  Our currency soared and our Central Bank head was courted (and drafted by the UK!) like an Allstar athlete.

That was then. Turns out it wasn’t so much Canada’s genius, as it was a credit-fueled-global demand/speculation bubble, that has now burst.  The loonie wasn’t a superstar so much as supernova.  Ah well, humility training is important character development.  And understanding and anticipating full market cycles is key to lasting financial success.
