Alan Simpson and Erskine Bowles, co-chairs of President Obama’s Deficit Commission, have released a “Chairmen’s Mark,” a broad plan to reduce the federal deficit by cutting spending and raising taxes. The plan incites the horror of reality across the political spectrum (a sure sign they are on the right track). You can read a summary of their proposal here.
