BC govt: ‘money laundered in BC more than anyone predicted’

An expert panel looking into money laundering in B.C.’s real estate market has found an estimated $5 billion in “dirty money” was laundered through the province’s housing market in 2018 alone.  This has helped to inflate property prices beyond the reach of many law-abiding residents.

At a press conference held Thursday, B.C. Finance Minister Carole James and Attorney General David Eby share the disturbing numbers connected to money laundering in the province. Here is a direct video link.
