Bob Shiller is one of the few economists who sees the forest for the trees.
Robert Shiller, an economics professor at Yale University and co-creator of the S&P/Case-Shiller home-price index, talks about the U.S. housing market and economy, and his prescription for government action to boost growth and employment. Property values in 20 cities fell 4.5 percent in the year ended in June, after a 4.6 percent drop in the 12 months ended in May that was the biggest since 2009, according to the Case-Shiller index. Shiller speaks with Tom Keene on Bloomberg. Watch the clip here.
He’s right about wage growth, it’s going nowhere, because against world standards it has been too high for decades.
