Team Trump booting the lobbyists?

After telling 60 Minutes on Sunday night, that he had no choice but to pick Washington and Wall Street swamp dwellers for his team, today Team Trump seems to be changing tack.  This just in– Tossed aside by Trump, industry lobbyists scramble to connect:

On Wednesday, the Trump purge accelerated, now with an effort to push out lobbyists close to the effort. NBC News confirmed that Vice President-elect Mike Pence, who has taken over the transition leadership, had ordered the removal of all lobbyists from the team. That move came in the wake of criticism for Trump’s use of lobbyists on his transition team despite his pledge to “drain the swamp” and clean up Washington ethics.

Senator Elizabeth Warren (and others) have offered to help with a list of non-establishment advisers and experts Trump could call on if he intends to uphold his campaign promises.  That would be wise on his part.

Smarter more efficient food production is key

In a world with 7 billion + people, the demand for meat is growing faster than the planet can sustain without catastrophic deforestation, water and air degradation and health threats like E.Coli and antibiotic resistance.  It takes 23 calories of grain to make one calorie of beef –we must find smarter more efficient ways to produce our food.  Thankfully, we are.

The meat industry is long overdue for innovation. We’re using cutting-edge technology to grow real meat without the animals, in a process that’s better for the body and the planet. The result? “The meatball that changed the world.”  Here is a direct video link.

See This start-up is making real meatballs in a lab without killing a single animal:

” The lab-grown meat process goes something like this, according to Valeti. Find ultra-high quality cows and pigs. Take meat cells from a pork shoulder or other cut of meat. Find the cells capable of self-renewal and cultivate them in a sterile environment. The cells are harvested early for tender cuts of meat, and harvested later for textured cuts.

Since lab-grown meat doesn’t need to snack on grain to survive, the energy inputs can be significantly lower than with “real” meat. Memphis Meats claims it requires just three calories of energy input for one calorie of energy output.”
