Chanos on implications of credit market implosion in China

The world’s largest short-seller, James Chanos of Kynikos Associates, weighs in on why he believes investors are “misled by Chinese GDP numbers,” and how he is making money there. Chanos also provides his perspective on the Fed’s asset-buying program, and how thanks to easy money speculation, many US stocks today are now at over-valuation levels seen in the spring of 2000. We should all recall how that euphoria worked out. Here is a direct video link.

More on why risk-blind bulls will be proven wrong

The rest of the ‘trading’ banter in this clip is the usual financialtainment nonsense. No wonder the network’s viewer numbers have recently fallen to the lowest levels since 1994… I guess their audience has been burned enough times over the past 15 years to lose interest. I am reminded that the network asked me to do a regular spot on a new commodities trading show they were developing in 2011 (right at the peak of the commodities rebound). Thankfully I had the humble sense to decline.
