Hi Danielle,
I was just wondering if you had a comment on gold and silver today. I agree with you that the time will come when they top out and begin a long decline (but I don`t think this is the start of it). This leads to my question. Do you think this is a reasonable time to buy some silver and gold (maybe 5% of each in your portfolio). I wouldn`t have touched gold or silver because of the high prices but after this big decline I think they present a reasonable trade. Fundamentally I like them and maybe today the selling was overdone with the margin requirements being raised.
Have a great weekend
Hi, I’ve followed your media appearances for some time and have always been impressed with what you have to say. Why not publish your returns since the inception of your firm (Venable Park Investment Counsel) in a clear chart like they’ve done over at Acorn? You seem like such a straight shooter, whose done well (particularly in 2008), so I’ve always wondered why you don’t do that. Let the numbers speak. Thanks and keep up the good work.
(here is what they’ve done at Acorn: http://www.acorn.ca/OurPerformance.aspx)
Yes we have done that here.
This still isn’t 2008 right????
Excellent recap of the week. I agree with you, also with Robert’s post. The gov’t should stop tinkering with the markets. Have some patience and allow simple supply and demand set the price and growth rate. My 2 cents. JW, Vancouver
