    There’s another reason for high healthcare costs in the US. It’s illegal to import (medical) drugs from e.g. Canada & Mexico into the US. So, US drug companies can push the prices as high a they want and determine their own profit margin.

    To enforce these laws there exists a computer database that can be checked by the US border patrol and contains all the drug prescriptions from doctors in the US.
