60 Minutes: The future of money

Technology is increasingly empowering individuals and cutting conventional rent-takers out of the equation. It turns out in these new service models focus on serving their customers rather than abusing them:  “You don’t have to be greedy to be successful.”  Imagine that.

Tech giants like Apple and Google are all steadily rolling out new-fangled services to turn our smartphones into digital wallets — replacing cash and checks.
