Ending the plastic madness: ‘Doit4u’

For a while now my daughter and I have been running a bit of a lab in our kitchen at night making homemade vegan, plastic-free, palm-oil-free products like butter, household cleaners, skin moisturizer and soaps. Last night we made shampoo and conditioner and am happy to report that it works great, even on long hair.  Very gratifying hobby.

I can recall spending quality time helping my grandparents to can and make food and household products from scratch 45 years ago.  It feels right to be full circle doing it with the next generation now.  Crucially, it offers young people hope for the future when we older people care and help model the change that is needed.  Productive in every way.

It is also exciting to be cutting our costs, carbon and environmental footprint while improving health with better quality ingredients.  The internet is full of excellent blogs and websites with free recipes.   You can find several good ones here  7 Amazing People Who Prove that Living Plastic-free is possible:
