On-going problems in the Eurozone are an old story, but since most pundits have banked on “decoupling” and limited contagion to other major economies like China, Germany and the US, it is likely that the contracting data there will continue to disappoint and surprise currently optimistic market prices. Central bankers, politicians, money mangers and strategists who never see recessions coming can’t possibly price them in. Wilfull blindness is bliss until suddenly its deadly.
